Our farm, called Blackwattle, is an easy 25 minute drive from Canberra, and is run by us, Angela and Matthew Smith. We are located in Murrumbateman, NSW and our farm is named after the black wattle trees growing across our property.
We are a working alpaca farm running a herd of 70 alpacas, mainly breeding females. We focus our breeding program on the advancement of fleece for fibre processing, whilst meeting the industry standard for confirmation. We focus on the commercial needs of the fibre these beautiful animals grow.
Our Farm Shop is located within our on-site farm shed, where Angela works – hand dyeing the yarn and fibre and is open to visitors by appointment, during Farm Tours and during the opening times and dates noted on the Blackwattle website. Visit our Blackwattle Alpaca Yarn and Fibre website to see when the Farm Shop is open.
The Farm Shop is open during Farm Tours.
